The Community Network for Disadvantaged People (CNDP) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation to help disadvantaged people.
Community refers to a group of people living in the local area. Specifically, the north to western outer areas of Melbourne between Plumpton, Strathmore and Hoppers Crossing.
Network refers to the usage of networking technologies by and for the local community, and this network is to be built and expanded through telephone contact, email and social media as well as other advertising and also through events.
Disadvantage People relates to the following groups:
- Relates to people with reduced upward mobility
- People with limited access to natural and economic opportunities.
- Socio-economically disadvantaged people who are from low incomes, who struggle to supply themselves and their family with food, clothing and shelter
- People who face special problems such as physical and mental disability
- People with a lack of financial or economic support
- People politically deemed to be without sufficient power.
